Man's search for meaning

Hello friends!
During the time of the Holocaust in 1940, Victor Frankl spent many years in the concentration camp as a prisoner in which he and his family were imprisoned and their family was killed.

They were kept in very dirty condition with the rest of the prisoners. He and the other prisoners were to work for 16 hours, were mentally and physically tortured, even in the cold winter clothes were not given to the prisoners and food was not served properly. Sometimes people died due to lack of food, many people died due to poisonous gas, and many prisoners would die only after losing their courage. Weak and non-working prisoners were put to death in the gas chamber. Exactly, Victor's life was full of meaning because he was a neurologist and psychologist, due to which his every new day was quite interesting because every kind of people behaviour was seen.

Like him, the attitude of those who were not losing their reason for living even after so much trouble was such that they were looking at the situation as a challenge that they had to overcome. Every human being courage and dreams were snatched away in that camp.

And what was left with them is how they react to every human being in that situation, and that is existentialism means "to live means to suffer" and to stand in suffering. Finding Meaning in Your Suffering. If there is a purpose in our life, then obviously there will be some meaning for our sufferings, but no one can tell this because every human's life has a different purpose, his job is to find the purpose of his life and his taking responsibility. It is not necessarily what we expect from life, it is necessary what life expects from us. Instead of asking ourselves the meaning of life, we have to look at life in such a way that life is asking us every moment what we want to contribute to our life. It is important how we can take the burden of our life. Because a person who has any meaning or purpose in life, can live and face any trouble that comes in his life.

A strong "why" to live for -

There was a prisoner with Victor who had a dream in the last of February that a voice came out to ask what to ask - when that prisoner asked when he would come out from here, a voice came out that "by 30 March you will out of here." After that, the prisoner was confident that he would leave by March 30, when the month of March was over, the prisoner felt that he could not be released, then on March 29, he read ill and on March 30, he died, it seemed that he was ill, he died of a virus called typhus, but Victor knew that he died due to hopelessness. Cheating, betrayal, the challenge does not kill a person but hopelessness kills a human being.

Victor noted that most people died during Christmas and New Year because people thought that at least they would be relieved in Christmas or New Year, but it did not happen and they died in hopelessness. Whenever a person's hope ends, his immune system becomes weak and when a person's immune system is weak, he can die from any minor disease.

During his work, Victor also noticed in some of his patients that those who have no meaning or purpose in their life would easily get angry, get addicted to bad things, and have depression. With this, Victor has also said that purpose does not mean comfortable life, success or money, but when our life becomes a little comfortable then we are not constantly fighting to live, then a question comes in our mind that we Why stay alive? Nowadays, it is seen in most people that nowadays people have the means to live, but there is no reason to live. And those who do not have a purpose, their life is empty, which Victor has named, existential Vaccum, people who are victims of this emptiness, these 3 symptoms are seen. 1.Depression
2. Angry
3. Bad addiction

Based on people's observation, Victor gave birth to a therapy called "logotherapy" which means Meaning Therapy. This therapy used to help people to understand the purpose of their life. And these objectives can be found in some ways -

1. To do something or to pursue a goal - because a person who does not have any purpose in life ruins his entire life wandering aimlessly. Every person has the ability to cooperate with something different that comes out only when he sets a target and gives birth to something new which is made only by his experience, attention and understanding. Victor says that whatever we are passionate about, we should make it our life's mission.

2. Making good relationships - According to Victor, the definition of relationship is slightly different from others. According to him, making love is not simply a loving feeling while love is recognizing the potential of others and helping them to reach their highest potential. Like making opportunities for your child, convincing your siblings about life, supporting friends in bad times and mentoring your juniors in your team so that they can muster up the courage to live well in the world. This is love, if you are not raising the level of others, then it is not loved, it is just a transaction. Good relationships enhance the quality and productivity of our lives. It is a path that gives us a chance to understand the deepest parts of others. No human can be aware of the nature of others unless he loves it and that should be the aim of all our relations. If there is no purpose in our life, then we have to find someone whose life we can improve.

3. Change Yourself Not the Situation - We all know that in many things happening in our life, we don't have control like traffic, rain, death of someone, economy, thinking of other people and even in our body. We can't control 90% of the things that happen, but we keep trying to control the same, in which we have no emphasis. If we can control something thing, it is ourselves - if it is raining we can enjoy getting wet, eat pakoras, enjoy the music if there is traffic if we don't like the behaviour of others, so we can ignore that, if a close person has died, then you can convince yourself that death is a natural process that will come for everyone.

4. To bear your sufferings with bravery and take responsibility for it -

Victor cites his example of how he imagined himself to have finished his book upon leaving the place, even after so much torture, lecturing people to the experience of this torture that filled all their grief and pain.

Every moment of theirs, they were cutting very alertly, in this way they were understanding the thinking of the people and defeating their sufferings. It is those sufferings that make us mentally strong.

We can't ignore our problems and disappointments, but suffering is a choice that depends on whether we curse our fate by comparing our suffering and pain to a more fortunate person or we see the lives of those people whose experiences are worst than us and we feel lucky for our lives.

When a person encounters a problem, then he means that he gives positive or gives negative as well as he gives these meanings that make our problems easy or difficult.

When we go out of the house to go, we see that the tire of our car is punctured, then we get angry that "it had to be punctured and the whole mood was spoiled", this was our negative meaning, we can call it positive by - nature has prevented me from going, maybe I could have an accident. If the car had run at a high speed and then the tire of the car would have punctured, then my accident would have been fixed.

A person living in every corner of the world faces this fate, whether it is in the concentration camps or in his normal life suffering, the meaning can be found. The condition is that instead of giving up or complaining, we have to find the light that can beat this darkness.
